Synopsis
After a long day of school at Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic, several friends go home. One of the friends realizes he forgot his thumb drive at school. He goes back to get it. The young man finds it, but he encounters something supernatural as he leaves.
My Thoughts
Gaamo? isn't scary, but the ending is creepy when the crunching noises start. It's because the viewers don't get to see what actually happens to the guy, so they have to use their imaginations to figure out what happened to him. It sounded like the female ghost attacked and killed him.
I wish I could speak Dzongkha so I know more about the video. One thing I wanted to know, did the friends already know about the ghost? Maybe not since the guy went up to the school by himself after dark. If Gaamo? is a typical horror movie, then maybe the young man didn't think anything bad would happen to him when he went inside the haunted school.
However, if the young man didn't know about the ghost, wouldn't he have thought the ghost was a regular person? Then, he would've angrily said something to the effect of, "Hey, what are you doing? You scared me!" I think that would've been scarier ending. He thought he was safe because he didn't know the truth. Then, his friends find out about the urban legend regarding the female ghost. As a result, his friends blame themselves for not knowing ahead of time.
Gaamo? stars Tashi Phuntsho, Suman Rai, and Lhamo Yangki. Make sure you keep watching after the movie ends. There's some behind the scenes footage after the credits. Lingpen D Gyeltshen wrote, directed, filmed, and edited Gaamo?. Damchho Dorji was the assistant cameraman.
