Synopsis
A young boy feeds teeth to a strange creature he met in the woods.

My Thoughts
Syfy released several teasers for Channel Zero. They're very eerie, quick, and simple in their execution. We don't get very much information from them, though. Syfy doesn't reveal the identity of the tooth monster or of the boy feeding teeth to it. That's not a necessarily a bad thing. The concept of "less is more" is a difficult thing to implement, but I think Syfy did a decent job at applying it to their Channel Zero teasers. Their teasers make me think, "Wait, what's happening? … Whoa, that was weird," and then I want to see more so I can figure out what's going on.

This teaser leaves me with a few questions: How does a tooth monster eat? Does it use teeth to chew its food? I also want to know why it has to eat teeth. Perhaps it's a macabre sacrifice the kids have to make some malevolent entity? Instead of that, maybe the entity has to periodically ingest new teeth in order to grow more.

If you would like to read the original Candle Cove, you can find it at Kris Straub's website, Chainsaw Suit.

Channel Zero will premiere on Syfy on October 11, 2016, at 9 / 8 c (in the United States).
