Synopsis
A group of friends discuss Candle Cove, a terrifying children's show which gave them nightmares as children. They soon discover Candle Cove wasn't just a TV show. It can influence children to do bad things, such as hurting other people. Soon, a new generation of children will experience the horror of Candle Cove.

My Thoughts
Channel Zero looks like it will be an interesting show. I wish the trailer had shown why the friends started talking about Candle Cove in the first place. Was it like the creepypasta, where one person kind of remembers it, so he or she asks other people if it really happened? Maybe one of them randomly remembered the show, so the conversation turned into, "Oh, yeah, that was messed up." There are a couple of shows and movies I watched as I kid that still make me do that.

The quick scenes showing the dolls or puppets from Candle Cove gave me the creeps. I can see why people have a phobia of dolls or pupaphobia (phobia of puppets and marionettes).

If the show can influence kids to behave maliciously, how long does this affect last? The last scene of the trailer seems to imply either the shows influence lasts for the entire life of the person who watched Candle Cove, or the man was willing to do anything to stop the show from influencing any more kids. It might be the latter, because if whoever is behind the show wants to continually influence kids to do their bidding, why would they allow an adult from a previously influence generation to kill kids from a new generation before he or she could under their influence?

If you would like to read the original Candle Cove, you can find it at Kris Straub's website, Chainsaw Suit.

Channel Zero will premiere on Syfy on October 11, 2016, at 9 / 8 c (in the United States).
