About:
"1808" is an independent horror film in development by Hugo Escobar and Tom Yimet. Their KickStarter page doesn't give much information about the movie. It doesn't have the plot of "1808" . It does state Hugo and Tom finished the planning stage and need to start filming. They plan to submit the film to contests and movie festivals.
Hugo and Tom have also uploaded a poster to the KickStarter page. It features a character simply named The Maid (Kristen Holt) standing in a basement, or perhaps another storage area. The Maid wears a black dress with white trim and buttons running down the front. She has pale skin and black hair. Is she a ghost who haunts the place she died?
On the KickStarter page, Hugo and Tom state they will screen "1808" at a location with the address of 1808 9th Street. Perhaps the Maid worked (and possibly died) at this location. Presumably, this is where the number 1808 comes from. At first, I thought 1808 was a reference to a hotel room number.
Hugo and Tom also posted a teaser trailer, which doesn't reveal much about the movie. It consists of a camera set up in the room featured in the poster. The video feed cuts in and out. The Maid slowly walks closer to the camera until she's right in front of it. The teaser is spooky to a certain degree, but the cutting in and out of the video feed happens so often it actually makes it difficult to watch the video.
I'm interested in seeing what Hugo and Tom have planned for "1808". Is the Maid a vengeful ghost who wants to punish the person responsible for her death? If the Maid isn't dead, is she planning to murder her employer or someone else?
