Still | Short Film | IndieGoGo

About:
Still will be a 4 minute horror movie. It centers on a woman named Anna (Lindsay Bennett) who hears a knock on her door on a dark, rainy night. When she opens the door, she finds a strange figure wearing boots and a paper bag on its head. She slams the door close. The figure knocks again. Anna opens the door to confront the person. Whoever it was has left. A note lays on her front porch. She picks it up and reads it. The note simply says she left the back door unlocked. Everyone thinks they're safe when they're at home. The team behind Still wants to dispel that myth. They also hope to turn Still into a feature length film one day.

The idea behind this video sounds really spooky. Masked strangers invading your home could happen to any one of us. It does remind me a little of Bryan Bertino's The Strangers and Adam Wingard's You're Next. However, all home invasion movies will have similarities.

What does the title of the movie mean? Will Anna have to stay still in order to survive? Maybe the intruder is good at being quiet or still, so Anna doesn't know where he or she is inside the house. The title might refer to the stillness of the house when Anna's husband gets home. If everything's quiet, he wouldn't know what happened to his wife. She could be dead or kidnapped. On the movie's IndieGoGo page, there's the tagline, "You never know what's underneath." I wonder if this means Anna or husband know who's under the paper bag mask?
