A young woman (Laura Ethridge) makes a deal with the devil to make all her dreams come true. It's a full moon and she performs her ritual in a graveyard. When the woman goes to bed later, she blinks and her eyes turn black. The woman smiles. A version of "Now I lay me down to sleep" (from Audio Blocks) plays in the background of the video.
Graveyard + Magic = Everything you've ever wanted is creepy, but not frightening. The simplicity of Graveyard works for it, but it also works against the movie to a certain degree. It works because it makes me wonder about the young woman. What did the young woman want so badly that she would make a deal with the devil? Did she try anything else before making the deal? It's frightening that someone so young would do something as serious as that.
The simplicity works against Graveyard because the movie needed a little bit more information in it. I do like horror movies that are mysterious and don't hand you all the answers so you have to think for yourself. I know Graveyard is only about a minute long, so the creators could only put in a certain amount of information. However, I wouldn't have even known the young woman had made a deal with the devil if I hadn't read the summary under the video. At first, I thought she had snuck out of the house to meet her friends or boyfriend. Perhaps there's a local urban legend within the movie that you can make a deal with the devil in the graveyard.
